First look at Elive 1.0

DistroWatch Weekly has a review of the recently released Elive 1.0.

Elive has reach its first major milestone with its release of version 1.0. I've tested several versions of Elive over the last two years (or so), publishing my findings a few times. I haven't published a report on Elive since 0.5 and things have continued to improve. I've been testing Elive 1.0 for several days and certainly agree that this release is worthy of the full first release status.

Elive keeps putting out new releases of their incredible Enlightenment-based desktop LiveCD.

After a HUGE amount of work on that version, a migration to new hosting (you can see the websites faster now!), and all the mirrors of Elive broken, Elive has finally released the version 0.6.7 with a LOT of good changes.

Linux.com has a review of the latest Elive LiveCD.

Elive is a live CD Linux distribution based on Debian that uses the Enlightenment window manager. Elive aims to provide an aesthetically pleasing environment with a full suite of desktop applications that runs efficiently on older systems. Its developers aren't finished yet, but they've come a long way with Elive since the release of 0.3 more than a year ago. This CD shows how beautiful distributions can become without being bloated.

Stunning Linux Distro Continues Development

LXer has an interview with the main developer of ELive, a LiveCD based around the Enlightement desktop environment.

From first boot, Elive shows the promise of an excellent Linux distribution. The graphical presentation is nothing less than stunning. If you are a fan of the Enlightenment desktop, you really have to see this distro. If you have no idea of what I am talking about...you really have to see this distro.
