Knoppix Hacks: Scan for Viruses

As seen on Digg, O’Reilly has posted a hack from their Knoppix Hacks book showing how to use a Knoppix CD to scan a Windows machine for viruses.

    I wrote a small script to check a filesystem with 4 a.v., live a log file in the scanned root partition and turn off the pc.
    Why 4 antivirus?
    Because someone find somethings, someone find something else… It’s a (long) way to be sure that the o.s. is clean.
    Why leave the log and switch off?
    Because could be a very long process and I prefer to remove the “beasts” manually.
